Springfield 1911 long slide variants?
I asked a question yesterday about finding a similar gun to the AMT hardballer in appearance, but much better in function. Someone suggested the Springfield 1911 long slide with stainless steel: in fact, it's pretty much the same design as the AMT. However, every model I have looked up online comes with a wood grip, while I would very much prefer a black grip or even stainless steel all the way round.
My question is: are there variants of this gun that DO come with a black or stainless steel grip, or is there a kit that someone like me (i.e. with no gunsmithing tools or experience) can use to replace it?
Did check the Springfield Armory website, by the way. They only had one with a wood grip.
Maybe, but you know you can change the grips on a pistol like that pretty easily, right?
