1.a kid on a playground makes a complete to and fro swing every 2 seconds. calculte the frequencyy.
2. a machine gun fires 10 roundsper sec. the speed of the bullet is 300m/s.
what's the distance in the air between the flying bullets?
and What happens to the distance between the bullets if the rate of fire is increased?
3/ the lowest frequency we can hear is about 20.0 Hz. Calculate the wavelength associated with this frequency for sound that travels at 340 m/s. How long is this in feet?

we have time period is 2 seconds
frequency is 1/time period
so f = 1/2 Hz = 0.5 Hz
2.
since, the gun fires 10 rounds per second, the time between 2 bullets will be 1/10 or 0.1 seconds.
the distance travelled by the first bullet in 0.1 sec is 300*0.1 = 30 m.
so, by the time second bullet is shot, the first one travels 30 m
so the distance between the bullets is 30m
this can be compared to wave equation wavelength = speed/frequency = 300/10 = 30 m
if rate of fire is increased, it means we increase its frequency. so the distance will decrease.
3.
wavelength = speed / frequency = 340 / 20 = 17 m
To convert metres to feet, multiply it by 3.3
i.e., 56.1 fts.
