Do it yourself EAR PIERCING kit from Walmart?
Has anyone used one of these guns from Walmart? I am fully aware that it is better to go to a tattoo/piercing place, but in this case we cannot do it there. My 8 year old daughter is begging to get her ears pierced. The places around here will not do children, except for the mall types and Walmart. She does not want to do it with them, she wants ME to do it. They do sell a disposable ear piercing gun at Walmart so it would be sanitary since it will only be used on HER earlobe. Has anyone used one, and if so, is it hard to do? How bad does it hurt? I want to help her but I am worried I might mess it up. I keep telling myself if the teenagers at Walmart and Claire's can do it, surely I can too! Any tips from people who have used this piercing gun? And again, I know the piercing gun is not better than a needle from a professional, but that is not an option given her age. Thanks.
although i've never used this particular type of kit, i've pierced my earlobes at claire's and i had a friend do my second holes so i am able to compare the two results. in my experience both turned out fine. the piercings done at home healed in a few weeks but beforhand my friend made sure everything was sanitary. if you are comfortable enough to do it then i think it should be fine.
